About Matthew

Matthew is my baby boy.

He was stillborn in 2009 because of a blood clot in his chord. He is survived by myself (his mother), his father, a twin sister (born 1 hour and 50 minutes after him), and many friends and family.

We first noticed something was wrong at 27 weeks when he had not grown much from the previous ultrasound. He struggled for survival before passing away on June 8th, 2009. We were waiting for both twins to get a little older before delivering.

I carried both Matthew and his sister for 15 more days before delivering one sleeping angel and one very tiny preemie at 30 weeks. Our son weighed 1lb and 2oz, was 13 and 1/2 inches long, and had brown hair. He was fully formed and looked perfect in every way. We had Matthew blessed by our church the next day and was cremated later that week. Though he never got to come home with us we still remember him every day. He has a blanket, a bear, a few outfits, and a memory box.

His sister is alive and doing well.
